Above is the car during our first trip
in the Albera Mountains, Spain and
below, prepared and ready
in the summer of 2004

Listed below are some of the modifications
that were made or added to the vehicle
in preparation for the trip. I’ve included the
approximate cost as a guide. Some things
were bought new, others on Ebay or through
forums. Since the first trip I have continued
to modify the vehicle further adding a drawer
to the load space, an Engel fridge, awning
and a laptop and GPS for navigating and
recording the trip.

As a quick calculation will confirm I spent well over
£3000 on the vehicle on just those sixteen items. Not
all of them were necessary for the Sahara, some just
needed to be done anyway, and not all cost only the
stated amount. As an example the spot light switch,
wiring and relay added an extra £20.
